ALLATINI S.A.
The oldest Greek company
1802: - The ALLATINI family moves from Livorno,
Italy and settles in Thessaloniki, Greece. They establish the
company “Modiano and Allatini”, which operates in the trade of
cereals and flour.
1836: - Moses Allatini sets up ALLATINI roller
mill and pottery. After his death, the company is renamed “Fratelli
Allatini”.
1854: - The construction of the ALLATINI flour-mill
at the junction of Antheon and
Laskaratou Streets in Thessaloniki is completed by the Frenchman
Darblay de Corblay and the Allatini brothers.
1882: - The flour-mill comes under the full
ownership of the Allatini family.
1897: - The “Ottoman Industrial and Commercial
Company of Thessaloniki S.A.” is established with a capital stock
of 3,000,000 French francs. The company has the flour-mill and
the ALLATINI pottery in its possession.
- At the same time, the ALLATINI family becomes active in various
commercial sectors, such as banking, breweries, tobacco goods
and other products.
1898: - The mill is completely destroyed in
a fire and it is rebuilt at the same location, based on the designs
of the Italian architect, Vitaliano Poselli.
1900: - The inauguration ceremony of the new
mill takes place in September.
1911: - The ALLATINI family returns to Italy.
A large portion of its property is sold off.
1926: - The majority of the shares come into
the possession of a group of Greek businessmen with Kosmas Panoutsos
from Argolida as the head of the group.
1950: - “ALLATINI S.A.” is listed in the Athens
Stock Exchange.
1951: - The flour-mill burns down for a second
time.
1955: - The mill is repaired and operates again.
1964: - The Company is divided into two companies:
“ALLATINI S.A.” which retains the flour-mill and “CERAMICS ALLATINI
S.A.” which retains the potteries.
1987: - On 31st December, ALLATINI S.A. creates two subsidiary
companies, the “NORTHERN GREECE CEREALS S.A.” and the “HELLENIC
BISCUIT COMPANY S.A.”. The “NORTHERN GREECE CEREALS S.A.” remains
under the ownership of “ALLATINI S.A.” by 99.99% and the “HELLENIC
BISCUIT COMPANY S.A.” is transferred to the Filippou Group. The
right to use the trade mark
exclusively for certain products, such as biscuit goods, household
flour up to 2 kilos, as well as all food manufactured in small
industrial packaging aimed towards the final consumer, is granted
to the “HELLENIC BISCUIT COMPANY S.A.”.
1996: - The Company relocates its production
activities to its new facilities at the Industrial Zone of Sindos
on 8.25 acres. The total investment amounts to 8.8 million Euros.
1997: - The “HELLENIC FOOD PRODUCING AND TRADING
COMPANY S.A.” is established, which produces and trades frozen
dough products.
2000: - “ALLATINI S.A.” participates by 50%
in the company CARNAC LTD,
which produces bread and bakery products in Nigeria.
2001: - “ALLATINI S.A.” purchases 99.9% of the
“FY.TRO EMPORIKI TROFIMON S.A.” that produces and trades organic
and ecologic food and absorbs it in 2003.
2002: - The subsidiary “NORTHERN GREECE CEREALS
S.A.” acquires 24.6% of the shares of the listed company CH. KATSELIS
SONS S.A., increasing its interest to 26.95% progressively.
- The “HELLENIC FOOD PRODUCING AND TRADING COMPANY S.A.” absorbs
“MANOS DONUT HOUSE” company, in which it has participated since
2001.
2003: - The historic real estate of the company
located on Laskaratou Street
is transferred by 50% jointly to the
companies “ASTIKES ANAPTIXIS THESSALONIKIS S.A” and “THEMELIODOMI
S.A” in order to be jointly developed. Upon the request of some
neighbors, the Committee of Suspensions of the State Council temporarily
suspended the decision of the Ministry of Culture, based on which
the reformation design of the real estate has been approved.
2004: - In the beginning of the year “ALLATINI
S.A.” leases the facilities at the Industrial Zone of Sindos in
Thessaloniki from its subsidiary “NORTHERN GREECE CEREALS S.A.”,
undertaking the production process of flours and byproducts.
- In January 2004, the new production plant of the “HELLENIC
FOOD PRODUCING AND TRADING COMPANY S.A. begins its operation.
2007: - The subsidiary “NORTHERN GREECE CEREALS S.A.” files a Voluntary Public Tender Offer to acquire common, registered and voting shares of the listed company “Cr. Katselis Sons S.A.” (according to Law 3461/2006). After the completion of the Voluntary Public Tender Offer, our subsidiary “NORTHERN GREECE CEREALS S.A.” increase its interest from 26,95% to 88,51% (including the percentage of shares that have been acquired). The above mentioned percentage of shares has been transmitted to the parent company ALLATINI S.A. witch today holds 88,71%.
